WHITE CEMENT

White cement is made from raw materials containing little or no iron or manganese, the substances that give conventional cement its grey colour. Therefore, the secret of white cement is in the raw material. Apart from this, only the whitest chalk is used in the production of white cement together with light coloured sand. The production of white cement usually requires 40a more energy than normal grey cement and this contributes to the high price of white cement. The difference between ordinary cement and while cement is as follows: The amount of chromium, manganese, iron compounds in white cement is much less than in grey cement The production of white cement consumes much more energy than grey cement.
